Die Violetten - Party Programme
Preamble
Die Violetten regard themselves as the representative of, and mouthpiece for, a growing number of spiritual people. Of and for all those who are aware of the spiritual dimension of our world and who would like to see an all-encompassing world view represented in politics, and not just a purely materialistic one.
In our view, spiritually is primarily an obligation toward the welfare of all being. It means placing emphasis on the connecting elements instead of the dividing elements, to act in love and with tolerance and responsibility, and to see the Divine in all that is to be seen.
We strive for a social order in which the guiding principle is self-knowledge through personal spiritual development, empathy, willingness to help, creativity, open communication, ecological thought, non-violence, freedom in spiritual life, humanitarianism in commercial life, equal rights and equal standing for women and men as well as tolerance. We know that every person can only think, feel and act from his level of awareness; hence, we have understanding for all, whereby we definitively reject all forms of violence.
As the earth is the place of development for all people for attaining greater awareness, we direct our efforts toward the protection of nature at all levels and a responsible way of treating our world.
Party Programme
Civil rights and the state
Church and state are completely separate.
Upbringing and education
Economy and finances
Money as a medium of exchange equates to values (performance and goods). Give and take are two equivalent aspects of economic management. Cash flow is encouraged instead of the hoarding of money.
The gulf between poor and rich is to be reduced. Income must bear a proper relation to the given performance. The consumer society should develop into a requirements-based society.
The national debt will be cut through savings in many areas, such as reducing subsidies and dismantling bureaucracy, as well as by downscaling the armed forces.
The tax system is to be simplified in such a way that it can be understood and applied by everybody. Following on from the reduction of the national debt, the overall tax burden is to be lowered. These measures will also serve to achieve taxation equity.
Ecological taxes make sense if the tax revenue is used in the interests of ecology.
The soil, water, air and food are a gift to all beings from the Divinity; they are to be treated with care accordingly.
Work
Work is an important aspect of human existence. It serves both personal development as well as the involvement of the individual in the community. Full employment is our goal and represents the greatest potential source of savings in the federal budget. Additionally, "work" as a concept is to be redefined and re-evaluated.
Work could be distributed more evenly; for instance, new workplaces can be created by lowering the number of working hours coupled with a suitable adjustment of wages and salaries. To achieve this, full time jobs are to be transformed into half-day jobs by means of basic conditions and bonuses on the part of the government.

Alternative forms of energy, such as wind, solar and hydrogen technologies, and environmentally acceptable production processes are to be promoted. Near-natural wooded areas and ecological compound systems are to be preserved and expanded.
Agriculture
Our soil with its powers makes it possible for people to develop. Animals and plants are a part of the divine creation and fulfil an important task as its partners. For this reason the earth is to be respected and protected; every form of pollution ultimately signifies the intoxication of humanity.Guarantor for the preservation of the soil is biological (ecological) agriculture, without factory farming, involving an ecologically sound farming of the land.
Health
From a spiritual point of view, illness is a danger signal or (and) a cleansing process; both serve the development of the individual. Through insight, illness can be cured and even avoided. As there are no "coincidences" in the usual sense of the word, illnesses also frequently have a deeper meaning; causes exist that need to be exposed and treated for the healing process to begin.
Illnesses are often the consequence of wrong eating habits, behaviour patterns or lifestyles. Emotional or spiritual causes may exist, making necessary an integral form of treatment that investigates and treats the root cause of the illness. The symptoms are preferably to be treated using naturopathic means and methods.
To this end, there will be convalescent centres providing sick people with an optimum of care, harmony and strengthening at spiritual, mental and physical level.
Preventive measures, such as more intensive consultation and education, will also ensure that an illness does not occur in the first place. The costs of this all-encompassing treatment will be borne by the health insurance schemes, thereby cutting expenditure in the health service considerably.
Animal rights
There will be no more animal experiments that are associated with suffering and death. As has been demonstrated, in most cases the results of these experiments cannot be applied to humans. Alternative research (e.g. on cell cultures) makes experimentation on animals superfluous.
Research that involves killing animals and genetic manipulation are incompatible with a spiritual perception of life.
Since nutrition no longer makes the consumption of animals necessary from today's viewpoint, more and more people are renouncing them as a source of nourishment. People are to be made aware of their personal responsibility for the suffering of so-called useful animals, and alternative sources of nutrition are to be encouraged.
The Basic Law will be amended in the sense of true animal rights derived from respect for these creatures. Factory and fur farming are to be abolished, and more stringent regulations governing the appropriate keeping of animals in a near-natural environment are to be adopted. Import bans are to be imposed for animals and animal products that have not been treated in line with these laws and regulations.
The legal system
The more the responsibility of the individual for the whole grows, the less regimentation is necessary. A comprehensive education that promotes the awareness of this responsibility is the first important step towards changing legal needs.
The "execution of sentences" is to be primarily regarded as an enlightenment of the "delinquents" about their deeds and what the community means to the individual. For instance, meditation exercises and seminars on the development of the awareness are on offer. The "delinquent" contributes to making up for the damage caused by him or her.

The price of land is to be reduced by leasing the remaining available urban space to private builder-owners for a limited time, and an end is to be put to land speculation with stricter legislation. Old people's homes will be transformed into communal places for young and old.
Our goal is to create an ecologically and citizen-friendly traffic network through the avoidance of transporting and by relocating indispensable haulage using environmentally-sound means of transportation.
New technologies
New, ecologically friendly and human-compatible technologies with which energy is saved and resources are spared, as well as research into new forms of energy, are to be promoted. In contrast, we reject nuclear fission (nuclear power stations) and genetic manipulation technologies.
All technical developments are to be investigated prior to implementation for any detrimental impact on the soil, water, air, people, animals and plants.
Developing countries
Developing countries will only be given support in the form of material contributions for specific projects taking into consideration cultural values and geographical and ecological circumstances (self-help assistance). Aid will only be given subject to a gradual downscaling of the military forces in the respective states.
Security and peace
A more highly developed awareness that many conflicts can be avoided or solved represents a major factor in assuring peace. We reject violence as a means of resolving problems.
